PCB to keep Lahore elections on Tuesday

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Panel (PCB) will keep elections of the Lahore area at the Gaddafi Ground on Wednesday at 10:00am.

Earlier, the elections were to be organised on Aug 7 but then performing PCB chair outdated Rights Sair Ali, who was also the selection commissioner, delayed the surveys to first keep elections of the PCB chair.

After having the elections of the PCB chair on Aug 18 in outcome of which Shaharyar Khan was chosen, the PCB declared the clean time frame for the elections of Lahore.

The PCB customer, who is the pm, will designate a new selection commissioner to perform the Lahore surveys following Rights Sair Ali’s resignation.

However, in the lack of an selection commissioner, Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana, who was the selection commissioner before Rights Sair Ali took over the job, would perform the elections as deputy selection commissioner.

Khawaja Nadeem is most likely to be chosen again for his second phrase of three decades as no applicant is contesting him.

The only competing before Khawaja Nadeem had been PCB’s former chair outdated Lt Gen Tauqir Zia but he withdrew himself from the competition in assistance of Khawaja Nadeem.

However, elections will be organised for the content of assistant and treasurer.

Shoaib Dar is the applicant of secretaryship from Khawaja Nadeem but there is a barrier in his way to get chosen as according to one of the guidelines of the PCB, both chief executive and assistant could not be from one area.

Khawaja Nadeem and Shoaib Dar are from Western Zone.
